The head of the construction company KSM 68-year-old Nikolay Makarov is from the town of
Podporozhye, Leningrad Region. Since 1968, Makarov worked in construction organizations
throughout the country as a foreman, site manager, chief engineer, department head, trust manager. In 1989, he was elected the general director of Karelstroimekhanizatsiya ZAO, and after the privatization of the trust in the early
1990s, he
became the owner of a controlling shares in Karelstroymekhanization. Makarov received his higher education in 1991, graduating from the Leningrad Political
Science Institute. Businessman several times was elected as deputy of the Karelian parliament, is a member of the "United Russia". In 2018 he received the title of honorary citizen of Petrozavodsk. In the Forbes
rating "Power and Money. Revenue rating of civil servants 2015" Makarov took the 19th place.
Nikolay Makarov owns 70.46% of shares in KSM. Oleg Nikolaevich Makarov owns 1.40% of the shares. Other co-owners
of the company with a small share are five more people. Nikolay Makarov is a member of the founders of more than two dozen companies: half of them are inactive.
KSM is engaged in construction of buildings and bridges,
repair of roads, the company built houses under the program of resettlement from emergency housing in Karelia. The total amount of state contracts is 7.6 billion rubles. The company received the largest state order in 2012 from Upravdor
for the construction of a section of the highway from Kochkoma to the state border, the cost of the contract is 1 billion rubles. Revenue for 2017 — 4 billion rubles.
